On Sunday 5th May a group of 23 embarked on the challenge of completing the Yorkshire 3 Peaks for Connect India. Situated within the Yorkshire Dales National Park, the 3 peaks challenge covers a distance of 24.5 miles over the peaks of Pen-y-ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough.
I have felt the urge to make a difference in the world for some time now. So when I heard about the 3 Peaks challenge for Connect India, an organisation I had become involved with only last year through the Ekatva journey, I immediately agreed to sign up. Ekatva had been a beautiful and inspirational...
South Asian art and culture have now become an integral part of Britain’s DNA. The dance, music, literature, film and fashion scenes have grown ever-popular in recent years with related events, exhibitions and festivals on the rise. However, how have these activities been supported and funded till now? And who should ensure that these art forms are preserved in the future? Join bibliophile Bhavit Mehta, director of the South Asian Literature Festival as he shares his own journey into South Asian Arts and attempts to answer these questions.

Bhartiya Vidhya Bhavan, London
The conversation was lively and offered an insight into Sonal's many accomplishments, but more importantly the values, vision and work ethic that underpinned them all.
Sonal has consistently been at the leading edge of several innovations shaping the trajectory for others to follow and build on. Whether it is starting Indicorps, shaping the environmental policy for Goldman Sachs or global development for Google.org.
As Sonal discussed, the rate of change in the world around us is ever increasing. As the world becomes increasingly...

It has been two months since the Ekatva and Manav Sadhna family joined us in the UK and swept us off our feet with their joyful message of oneness. A heartfelt thanks to each one of you for making this a success in every way possible. The Ekatva children and family joined us at Heathrow airport on 19th June and after a short chai break, we began our journey towards the first show city of Leicester, through to Birmingham and thereafter London. All four shows were sold out with standing ovations at each! The journey was, and continues to be, a powerful and heart-warming experience for everyone...

Rihen Dewan
Follow the journey of Ekatva at www.ekatva.blogspot.com
Despite my firm grasp of Gujarati and Hindi, upon coming across this word I had no clue as to what it meant and I’m sure it is the same for all of you.
So what is Ekatva? Ekatva means oneness, wholeness, togetherness.
It is an experiment designed to touch the lives and spirits of 16 underprivileged children through dance and art, while inspiring the souls of thousands across the world.
These children came from some of the largest...

Presentation at Insight India reunion 2011

When I registered for Insight India, at first I did not want to go. I had a bad experience
in India two years ago and this time I was without my family. My protest obviously, did not
work, but I’d definitely do this all over again with the same group. When arriving in India,
probably in my mind I thought that the only form of help we could give to the people of the
slums is through monetary donations. This however is not the case. A lot of the time when we
give them charity, we think that we are helping,...
