The longest journey of any person is the journey inward.
When I decided to participate in a trip to India last year with a charity organisation called Connect India, I was not expecting too much. I had done a bit of volunteer work before and I thought I would check out some organisations in India that may be doing some interesting things. I expected to visit some grass-roots projects, meet some local people and come home However, this was not the case AT ALL!
I had visited Ahmedabad, Gujarat many times in my young life and I was pretty cocky about it. I understood India and felt as much a connection...

It was an early Sunday morning when a young group of people descended upon Ealing Road in Wembley to launch the Free Chai initiative in London. Why? Simply to encourage the act of giving.
After a recent trip to Ahmedabad in India, many of these individuals were taken away by a non-profit organization, Seva café. This experiment relies upon humble giving and runs upon a volunteer system. Through acting as a volunteer and cooking wholesome meals with true love and care, we realised the power and joy that comes from ‘doing’.
